"Luzhou Laojiao" Vial Cover Violation

In 2011, Wuhan Customs seized 31 cases of IPR infringement cases with a value of 474,000 yuan. Among them, 29 cases were detected by postal channels, with a value of 285,000 yuan; 2 cases were detected by freight channels, and the value of the case was 189,000 yuan. The customs discovered that 12,000 bottle caps of "Yanshi Laojiao", which are very similar to the bottle caps of "Luzhou Laojiao", were initially found to be infringing the trademark of "Luzhou Laojiao" from an international shipment exported to Australia. The rights were seized so as to avoid the illegal manufacture and sale of counterfeit "Luzhou Laojiao" brand liquor. As a typical case of customs protection of intellectual property rights, this case was selected as one of the ten cases in Wuhan City to combat infringement of intellectual property rights and the production and sale of counterfeit and shoddy goods. Rights holders Canon (China) Co., Ltd. and Frederick L. P. Co., Ltd. sent a thank-you letter to Wuhan Customs and highly praised Wuhan Customs for its work on intellectual property protection.
