First, the paper troubleshooting

1, paper jam failure

Jam is one of the most common printing problems in daily printing. The main causes of jams are the following three:

First, use poor quality paper or paper damp. If there is no problem with checking the printer components, the greatest possible problem is a paper problem. Infrequent paper is often accompanied by many scraps of paper. Scraps fall into the machine during the printing process, putting pressure on the pickup roller and increasing the possibility of paper jams.
The paper is too light for easy jamming, especially for double-side printing, because the paper has been deformed after a single heating and ink penetration. If the weight of the paper is less than 60 g, the paper jam is likely to occur. Paper is damp, paper is wet, and paper jams are easy to appear.

Second, software configuration problems. If there is a software setting error, there will be a paper jam. For example, if the paper tray is loaded with paper of other sizes, the A4 size paper is still set in the software settings, and paper jams will occur. Sometimes it is neither a hardware issue nor a software issue. There is no paper inside the printer, but the printer still prompts for a paper jam. At this time, you can do some clear memory operations. The method of clearing the memory operation is also very simple. Press Feed + Clean + Power, and then press Purge for 10 seconds.

Third, parts are aging. If a printer is used for more than one and a half years, parts will start to age, especially the wear of the pickup roller, pick roller, and separation claws, which is also the main cause of jams. If the paper has just entered the machine, it jams. This phenomenon is generally caused by the wear and slippage of the pickup roller, which causes the printing paper to be sent out of position. If the abrasion is not serious, wipe it with a damp cloth and clean it several times. If you use it for a while, it will fail again. At this time, you do not want to replace the pickup roller. You can try to do a little bit of handling the pickup roller yourself. Scrape the leather case above the roller and turn it 180 degrees. Or take the holster off and wrap a few tapes on it to put the holster on, making its diameter bolder and counteracting its wear. If you use a period of time and then fail again, you have to replace the pickup roller to completely solve this problem.

For laser printers, the pick roller is also the most wearable part of the printer. When the paper in the tray is normal and the paper cannot be taken, the take-up roller is often worn or the spring is loose. The pressure is not enough to feed paper into the machine. The paper take-up roll is worn out and cannot be replaced at one time. The rubber band can be used for emergency treatment. After winding the rubber band, the friction force of the paper is increased and the paper feeding can be restored to normal.

Laser printers also have a piece of paper handling accessories called separation claws. The role is to separate the paper and prevent it from following the cylinder, causing jams. Separation claws are more likely to be bad, and when its tip becomes blunt, the melted toner can stick to the paper and cannot allow the paper to exit the machine smoothly. The first step is to clear the separation claws. If not, only the replacement claws must be replaced. Here is particularly reminded that the laser printer can not print coated paper, every time a card.

After a paper jam occurs, turn off the printer's power, and then pull the paper from the outside or the inside according to the condition of the paper jam. Take special care to prevent the paper from being left inside the printer.

2, paper feed failure

In addition to paper jams, paper feeds are often encountered. The first condition is that it is difficult to feed thick paper. For example, printing thick paper like cardstock requires human assistance to feed the paper. This is mainly due to the fact that the pickup roller material is either too hard or too thin and the wheel is not adhesive, and the second reason is that the pressure between the pickup roller and the cardboard is small. There are two ways to solve this problem. First, increase the pressure between the support board and the pick-up roller. You can add some pressure under the support board to increase the pressure, or cut a thick piece of paper that can surround the pick-up roller. Then lift the pickup rubber rubber and use the paper paper just cut to lift the rubber. In addition to this method, you can replace the thinner rubber with a thicker one.

The second case is the difficulty of feeding thin paper. Sometimes we need to print some very thin paper, but we cannot feed it anyway. The solution is: Take a standard A4 paper (same as the width of the tissue), fold the side of the paper (usually the narrow side) by 5 to 10 mm, and then clamp the thin paper to be printed. Place the printer into the printer tray inward to print normally.

The third kind of situation is that paper goes around. When you print to a page, suddenly leave a piece of paper, and then automatically print it. This is often due to the printer being used for a long time, and the paper detection switch contact has a poor contact due to wear and dust, resulting in the printer making a wrong judgment. The solution is to open the printer, find the paper detection switch carefully cleaned with alcohol, you can return to normal.

Second, the operation error

1, the printer garbled

During the printing process, characters appear garbled on the page. The main reason is that improper use of the page causes the data system or the content in the print buffer to become confusing. This can easily cause the printer to print strange characters. For example, if some users are in a hurry, after sending a print command to the printer, if the printer is found to be doing nothing, the printer will repeatedly execute the print command. As a result, the computer system cannot respond to many print requests in time, and the system will The printer issues some wrong instructions, which may cause illegal characters to be printed.

The quickest solution is to turn off both the computer and the printer's power, and then turn the power back on to restart them. If you still can not solve the garbled phenomenon, then try to restart the print server or update the driver or re-print settings, garbled will be resolved. If it still does not work, then you will need to disinfect the computer system.

2, the printer does not respond

When you press "Print this", the printer is still not responding. At this time, it is necessary to conduct investigations. First, check the continuity of the power line or data line. Especially in thunderstorms, the short circuit phenomenon occurs most often; secondly, it is necessary to check whether too many contents are sent and printed, resulting in insufficient memory for the printer; , check your USB cable. Because the printer comes standard with a short USB cable, many users use the USB extension cable. At this time, check whether their port standards are the same. If the original USB port is the USB 1.1 standard, and the extension cord is 2.0, The direct result of two different standard wire connections is that the printer is not responding.

3, the print icon disappears

Sometimes it is obviously printed, but the printer icon on the taskbar disappears. The main reason for this failure is the frequent hot plugging of USB cables by users. Although all current printers support hot plugging, the hot plugging support for USB printers of the WinXP operating system is limited, if it is frequently inserted. Pulling out the printer interface, or suddenly plugging or unplugging the USB interface while the printer is working, can easily cause the USB printer to disappear temporarily from the system's printer list window. 1, word car failure

The word carriage is also called a print cartridge trailer. It is also quite common for carriages to malfunction in daily printing. For example, the word carriage always enters the protection box after starting up, and moves back and forth without regularity and randomly hits the mechanical frame. Or the car does not run smoothly, and sometimes stops in one place and it is always on the way, or it does not move. The main reason for these phenomena is that the printer is used for a long time, the lubricant on the guide rod is insufficient, and the lubrication is lost. The particles formed after long-term absorption of dust and fine fibers also hinder the operation of the word carriage.

The simplest solution is to turn off the printer's power supply. Clean the guide rod and the contact point between the guide car and the guide bar with a clean cloth or a good-quality face towel, and then wipe the lubricant onto the printer guide bar. The right and left parts of the rod are dropped in an appropriate amount. Be careful not to overdo it, so that the lubricant will not drip from the guide rod, and finally let the word carriage reset. If it does not last long, the problem is still there. This shows that the guideway is aging and the carriage needs to be replaced.

2, replace the drum failure

For laser printers, the photoreceptor drum is a very important part, but the life of this important part is limited, generally only 6,000-10,000 sheets. When it is found that the print image is light and dark, and the non-transferring corona electrode and toner cause it, the drum life is terminated and it should be replaced.

It is relatively simple to replace the photosensitive drum, cut off the power supply of the printer, and remove the cartridge from the printer. After the two fixing pins are pulled out, the cartridge is divided into a photosensitive drum portion and a silo portion (the magnetic roller of the photosensitive drum is opposite to the fixing hole when the photosensitive drum is restored). To be consistent), use the needle-nose pliers to clamp out the fixed pins on both sides of the photoreceptor drum and pull out the photoreceptor drum. Attention should be paid to the newly purchased photoconductor drum with a black anti-exposure seal. Do not tear it off before installation to prevent exposure. 3, adjust the position of the gear rack gear

For laser printers, the image or text can only be printed in half. This phenomenon is very common in actual printing, and the main reason is that the silo and the cartridge cannot be normally contacted when the silo frame is easily misaligned. When the printer can't print out the text picture that needs to output correctly, you need to carry on the alignment adjustment to the silo rack gear.

1, print gradually blurred

When many users print materials using ink-filled printers, some of the documents that started are clear and without any problems, but the contents of the following documents have gradually become blurred or even changed (ink cartridges and ink). 2, print ghosting

In the printing process, many users encounter the problem of ghosting or misalignment of the printer. There are many reasons for this problem. The most likely reason is that the nozzle is in an abnormal state. The method to solve this problem is to perform the nozzle. Calibrate, perform printhead calibration using the printhead alignment program in the printer setup.

First, select "Start" -> "Settings" -> "Printer" or "Print & Fax". Right-click on the printer icon and select "Printing Preferences" -> "Maintenance" or "Utilities". Fifth, ink filling failure

1, nozzle blockage

If you often use ink filling, nozzle clogging is the most common failure. The most common solution is to use a driver to clean the print head several times and generally succeed. If several consecutive cleanings are ineffective, the more you disconnect the cleaner, the more you disconnect the printer, turn off the printer, let the cartridge stand still for 10-20 hours, and try cleaning it several times on the second day. If you can't solve it, you can only clean it.

The simplest method is to use an ultrasonic cleaner and inject about 20 ml of special cleaning solution into the washer. It can also be replaced with absolute alcohol. The removed nozzle is placed inside the ultrasonic cleaner so that the cleaning fluid just does not contain the print head. Put on the cover of the washing machine, press the start button, the machine will start automatic cleaning. Generally, do not wash more than three times in a row. Wait one hour and clean it three times in a row. If the plug is very serious, you can let the nozzle soak in the washing machine for about 24 hours.

The most cost-effective way is to pull the nozzle out of the printer, and then find a container with a smooth bottom, add a little 95% organic solvent alcohol in the container (must be 95% concentration), alcohol to just cover the print head stainless steel bag Side is limited (be careful not to allow the PCB to come into contact with alcohol). Soaking time generally ranges from 2 hours to 4 days. The advantage of soaking is that the cleaning effect is good and it is not easy to cause physical damage to the print head. The disadvantage is that it takes a long time and it is difficult to solve the urgent needs of users. Another method is to use a syringe to inhale distilled water into the cartridge through the vent hole of the cartridge, and then after a while, the injected distilled water is sucked out with a syringe, so that the remaining ink in the cartridge can be repeatedly cleaned.

The most worry-free method is to prepare a set of discarded ink cartridges, buckle the top of the waste ink cartridge, remove the sponge inside, clean the ink cartridges, and re-glue them to the ink cartridges with 2/3 of the original top. When the ink cartridge is clogged, the ink cartridge is changed to the position of the blocked color, and pure water, or alcohol and other special cleaning solutions are injected into the ink cartridge for several hours. The time can be controlled according to the degree of clogging, and it can be repeatedly operated in the middle of the entire process. The water in the ink cartridge cannot dry up. If you replace the chip on the cartridge, use a cleaning program that works better.

2, waste ink warehouse cleared

The ink after cleaning the print head is called waste ink. Excessive waste ink will overflow the waste ink tank. In particular, the ink will be filled or the modified CISS will increase the production of waste ink. When the waste ink in the waste ink tank reaches the upper limit set by the manufacturer, it will stop printing. At this time, two tasks need to be done: First, implement zeroing of the waste ink count so that the printer can resume printing, ie, clear; second, clean up. Waste ink tank, wash or replace the waste ink pad.

The first thing to say is that the clearing software that is currently downloaded from the website or obtained from the dealer can be cleared. However, it needs to be reminded that clearing is only a temporary solution, because although the printer can print normally after clearing, waste ink still exists, and it will accumulate, and when it overflows, it will appear as “Shuiman Jinshan”. The scene. Therefore, zeroing is only a temporary solution and can only temporarily solve the problem. If you want to cure the problem, you need to clean up waste ink.

3, cleaning waste ink pad

The waste ink pad is at the bottom of the printer, almost completely unloading the printer. It takes a lot of patience and carefulness. It is recommended that the printer should find a piece of paper to record the disassembly step or take the disassembly step to avoid mounting the printer. After dismantling the printer, take out the waste ink cartridge and remove it. Place it in clean water and soak it. Wash it, dry it, and reinstall it. If the waste ink pad can be purchased in the market, or find some thick cotton pads to replace it, but the premise must be strong water absorption.

If you think that disassembling a printer is too much trouble, you can use a simpler method that uses suction and sticky solutions to solve the waste ink problem. Suction is the use of a syringe needle into the waste ink tank to suck out the waste ink inside. Sticky is the use of toilet paper, etc., with tweezers clamped into the waste ink warehouse, use toilet paper to stick waste ink, and then the toilet paper is still off, repeated until it is clean.

1, waste ink external

If it is a modified continuous supply, waste ink production is the most, if you want to once and for all, the easiest way is to waste ink external, that is, the waste ink tube directly out, so that waste ink directly into the waste ink bottle outside the print.

For the CISS system, ink is the most basic and most important part. The ink quality directly affects the frequency of failures. The most common failure caused by ink is that the color of the print is large compared to the original, or the black is not black enough, or the gray is greenish or reddish; or the level of the print is not fine enough and not rich enough; even printing. The color produced is seriously distorted and even reversed from the original color.

The solution is to use high-quality ink first. The ink used in the continuous ink supply system must be better than the ink used in the compatible cartridge. If the problem persists, remove the ink line from the continuous ink supply system for thorough cleaning, replace the original ink cartridge or empty ink cartridge, and reassemble the ink cartridge in the normal color order.
