First, the paper troubleshooting

1, paper jam failure

Jam is one of the most common printing problems in daily printing. The main causes of jams are the following three:

First, use poor quality paper or paper damp. If there is no problem with checking the printer components, the greatest possible problem is a paper problem. Infrequent paper is often accompanied by many scraps of paper. Scraps fall into the machine during the printing process, putting pressure on the pickup roller and increasing the possibility of paper jams.
The paper is too light for easy jamming, especially for double-side printing, because the paper has been deformed after a single heating and ink penetration. If the weight of the paper is less than 60 g, the paper jam is likely to occur. Paper is damp, paper is wet, and paper jams are easy to appear.

Second, software configuration problems. If there is a software setting error, there will be a paper jam. For example, if the paper tray is loaded with paper of other sizes, the A4 size paper is still set in the software settings, and paper jams will occur. Sometimes it is neither a hardware issue nor a software issue. There is no paper inside the printer, but the printer still prompts for a paper jam. Third, parts are aging. If a printer is used for more than one and a half years, parts will start to age, especially the wear of the pickup roller, pick roller, and separation claws, which is also the main cause of jams. If the paper has just entered the machine, it jams. This phenomenon is generally caused by the wear and slippage of the pickup roller, which causes the printing paper to be sent out of position. If the abrasion is not serious, wipe it with a damp cloth and clean it several times. If you use it for a while, it will fail again. At this time, you do not want to replace the pickup roller. You can try to do a little bit of handling the pickup roller yourself. Scrape the leather case above the roller and turn it 180 degrees. For laser printers, the pick roller is also the most wearable part of the printer. When the paper in the tray is normal and the paper cannot be taken, the take-up roller is often worn or the spring is loose. The pressure is not enough to feed paper into the machine. The paper take-up roll is worn out and cannot be replaced at one time. The rubber band can be used for emergency treatment. After winding the rubber band, the friction force of the paper is increased and the paper feeding can be restored to normal.


Laser printers also have a piece of paper handling accessories called separation claws. The role is to separate the paper and prevent it from following the cylinder, causing jams. Separation claws are more likely to be bad, and when its tip becomes blunt, the melted toner can stick to the paper and cannot allow the paper to exit the machine smoothly. The first step is to clear the separation claws. If not, only the replacement claws must be replaced. 2, paper feed failure

For example, printing thick paper like cardstock requires human assistance to feed the paper. This is mainly due to the fact that the pickup roller material is either too hard or too thin and the wheel is not adhesive, and the second reason is that the pressure between the pickup roller and the cardboard is small. There are two ways to solve this problem. First, increase the pressure between the support board and the pick-up roller. You can add some pressure under the support board to increase the pressure, or cut a thick piece of paper that can surround the pick-up roller. Then lift the pickup rubber rubber and use the paper paper just cut to lift the rubber. In addition to this method, you can replace the thinner rubber with a thicker one.

The second case is the difficulty of feeding thin paper. Sometimes we need to print some very thin paper, but we cannot feed it anyway. The solution is: Take a standard A4 paper (same as the width of the tissue), fold the side of the paper (usually the narrow side) by 5 to 10 mm, and then clamp the thin paper to be printed. Place the printer into the printer tray inward to print normally.

The third kind of situation is that paper goes around. When you print to a page, suddenly leave a piece of paper, and then automatically print it. This is often due to the printer being used for a long time, and the paper detection switch contact has a poor contact due to wear and dust, resulting in the printer making a wrong judgment. The solution is to open the printer, find the paper detection switch carefully cleaned with alcohol, you can return to normal.


Second, the operation error

1, the printer garbled

During the printing process, characters appear garbled on the page. The main reason is that improper use of the page causes the data system or the content in the print buffer to become confusing. This can easily cause the printer to print strange characters. For example, if some users are in a hurry, after sending a print command to the printer, if the printer is found to be doing nothing, the printer will repeatedly execute the print command. 2, the printer does not respond

The word carriage is also called a print cartridge trailer. It is also quite common for carriages to malfunction in daily printing. For example, the word carriage always enters the protection box after starting up, and moves back and forth without regularity and randomly hits the mechanical frame. Or the car does not run smoothly, and sometimes stops in one place and it is always on the way, or it does not move. The main reason for these phenomena is that the printer is used for a long time, the lubricant on the guide rod is insufficient, and the lubrication is lost. The particles formed after long-term absorption of dust and fine fibers also hinder the operation of the word carriage.

The simplest solution is to turn off the printer's power supply. Clean the guide rod and the contact point between the guide car and the guide bar with a clean cloth or a good-quality face towel, and then wipe the lubricant onto the printer guide bar. The right and left parts of the rod are dropped in an appropriate amount. Be careful not to overdo it, so that the lubricant will not drip from the guide rod, and finally let the word carriage reset. 2, replace the drum failure

For laser printers, the photoreceptor drum is a very important part, but the life of this important part is limited, generally only 6,000-10,000 sheets. When it is found that the print image is light and dark, and the non-transferring corona electrode and toner cause it, the drum life is terminated and it should be replaced.

It is relatively simple to replace the photosensitive drum, cut off the power supply of the printer, and remove the cartridge from the printer. After the two fixing pins are pulled out, the cartridge is divided into a photosensitive drum portion and a silo portion (the magnetic roller of the photosensitive drum is opposite to the fixing hole when the photosensitive drum is restored). If you often use ink filling, nozzle clogging is the most common failure. The most common solution is to use a driver to clean the print head several times and generally succeed. If several consecutive cleanings are ineffective, the more you disconnect the cleaner, the more you disconnect the printer, turn off the printer, let the cartridge stand still for 10-20 hours, and try cleaning it several times on the second day. The most worry-free method is to prepare a set of discarded ink cartridges, buckle the top of the waste ink cartridge, remove the sponge inside, clean the ink cartridges, and re-glue them to the ink cartridges with 2/3 of the original top. When the ink cartridge is clogged, the ink cartridge is changed to the position of the blocked color, and pure water, or alcohol and other special cleaning solutions are injected into the ink cartridge for several hours. The time can be controlled according to the degree of clogging, and it can be repeatedly operated in the middle of the entire process. The water in the ink cartridge cannot dry up. If you replace the chip on the cartridge, use a cleaning program that works better.

2, waste ink warehouse cleared

The ink after cleaning the print head is called waste ink. Excessive waste ink will overflow the waste ink tank. In particular, the ink will be filled or the modified CISS will increase the production of waste ink. When the waste ink in the waste ink tank reaches the upper limit set by the manufacturer, it will stop printing. At this time, two tasks need to be done: First, implement zeroing of the waste ink count so that the printer can resume printing, ie, clear; second, clean up. Waste ink tank, wash or replace the waste ink pad.

3, cleaning waste ink pad
