Kelly Behun Studio is an interior design firm based in New York City, known for its unique and personalized approach to creating custom living spaces. Founded by Kelly Behun, the studio specializes in designing interiors, furniture, and decorative accessories that reflect a deep understanding of both visual and emotional appeal. Rather than focusing on a specific style or provenance, Kelly’s work emphasizes a creative and thoughtful blend of bespoke furnishings, one-of-a-kind designer pieces, and eclectic finds, making each project truly distinctive.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Kelly attended the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania before moving to New York City. There, she joined Ian Schrager Hotels’ in-house Design Studio, where she trained under architect Anda Andrei and worked alongside renowned designers like Andrée Putman and Philippe Starck. During her time there, she played a key role in the design of iconic properties such as the Delano in Miami, Mondrian in Los Angeles, and several flagship hotels in New York City including Royalton, Paramount, Morgans, and Hudson.
After gaining valuable experience in the hospitality industry, Kelly launched her own studio, which quickly gained recognition for its comprehensive and highly tailored approach to interior design. Her work has been featured in major design publications, books, and television shows, and her furniture and home accessories are available through exclusive retailers like 1st Dibs and the Met Breuer shop. Kelly is also recognized as an Architectural Digest AD100 Interior Designer and is listed in Elle Décor Magazine’s A-List of Interior Designers.
Known for her artistic eye and deep connection to the art world, Kelly has designed spaces for high-profile clients across various industries, including business, technology, politics, and entertainment. She currently lives in New York City with her husband and two sons. Her ongoing projects include luxury residential designs in New York, London, and South Florida, as well as the development of a new line of lighting and rugs.
One of her latest creations, the Fitzroy Sofa, draws inspiration from the dramatic landscapes of Patagonia. Upholstered in soft cotton velvet and featuring a matte casted brass base, the sofa embodies the idea that true luxury lies in the experience and emotional connection it brings. It's more than just a piece of furniture—it's a statement of elegance and comfort.
