The working process of impact folding is as follows:

To use a good impact folding machine, the key is to make adjustments to the folding cylinder, but this is also difficult to grasp. The following is an example of a Japanese Gaussian impact folding machine.
1. Relative position adjustment of folding roller and cutting roller
During assembly, the cutting blade pad of the folding cylinder should face the zigzag cutting blade on the cutting cylinder. The folding roller and the cutting roller are driven by a pair of meshing gears, and the cutting roller is connected with the transmission gear. The folding roller is connected with the transmission gear for the long hole screw, and the connection position of the long hole and the screw is changed, and the position can be achieved. The purpose of adjusting the relative position of the folding roller and the transmission gear. The slight adjustment can be achieved by changing the distance between the pick pin hole and the trimming edge, but it is not advocated here in actual production.
2. Needle adjustment
The telescopic movement of the picking needle is controlled by the cam on the transmission side. The telescopic stroke of the picking needle is determined by the cam mechanism, but the height of each picking pin protruding from the surface of the folding roller can be adjusted independently. In order to ensure that the needle can be fully retracted inside the folding roller, the height of the picking pin protruding from the surface of the folding roller should be smaller than the retracting stroke of the picking pin. Measure the height of the picking pin so that when the folding roller is turned to the maximum picking amount, the height of the picking pin protruding from the surface of the folding roller is 6 mm. In actual production, the height of the picking needle can be fine-tuned according to the requirements of different thicknesses.
During the folding process, the picking needle is pre-extended. As the folding drum rotates, the protruding picking needle will stick into the paper tape. Therefore, the picking up time of the picking pin is not required to be accurate, and adjustment may not be necessary. Consider the moment when you pick the needle. However, when the folding knife inserts the newspaper into the folding nip roller, the picking pin must be retracted in time, that is, the picking time of the picking pin must be accurate, otherwise the indenting too late will tear the paper due to the folding knife sticking out, and the indenting is too early. It also caused the paper to run out of control for a period of time, affecting the accuracy of folding. In addition, the indentation process of picking needles should also be rapid, so that the picking pin and the planetary folding knife coordinate with each other. When adjusting, release the needle cam fastening screw on the transmission side. If it is too early, the picker cam will move in the forward direction of the folding drum, and the indentation will make the picker cam toward the folding drum too late. The reverse direction moves.
3. Adjust the knife height
The main axis of the folding knife is to make a planetary motion by the folding drum operation gear, so that the folding knife shaft has both rotation and revolution. The gear ratio between rotation and revolution of the blade is expressed by the relationship between the number of teeth of the sun gear and the number of teeth of the planetary gear. Since the folding knife rotation is actually the rotation of the planetary wheel, and the folding knife revolution is the rotation of the folding drum, so that each time the folding roller rotates, the folding knife extends three times in total, and the phase difference of three times is 120°, only downwards. Once outstretched, it interleaves between folding rollers to complete the transverse folding action.
