The development of innovative corrugated boxes requires a circular economy

(1) Packaging material reduction

Corrugated board partial composite technology and fiber reinforcement technology can not only increase the strength index of corrugated box, such as 55% increase in flat compressive strength, 40% increase in main bearing surface strength, 30% increase in overall compressive strength, and increase in drop strength by 25%. Moreover, it can reduce the amount of base paper and calculate it with an annual output of 18.5 billion square meters of corrugated paperboard. After adopting this technology, it can save more than 2 million tons of raw paper per year, and ultimately achieve the purpose of cost saving. Compared with corrugated boxes of the same specifications, Save 20% to 60% of the cost.

(2) Efficient recycling of packaging waste

The fastest growing among packaging materials is paper packaging materials. Although China's waste paper utilization rate (utilization/yield) is as high as 49%, the waste paper recovery rate (recycling amount/amount) is less than 30%. According to the current recycling level, China can recover 1.4 million tons of corrugated boxes per year, which can save 800,000 tons of coal, 490 million tons of electricity, 110,000 tons of caustic soda and 110 million tons of water for producing the same amount of corrugated boxes. China's annual waste paper is up to 6 million tons, equivalent to 24 million cubic meters of waste wood. Therefore, efficient recycling of packaging waste is imminent. However, for the time being, in order to achieve efficient recycling of packaging waste, it is necessary for the state to introduce a series of support policies and related standards, as well as to solve some technical problems.
