Special materials and printing process requirements for copying

The art of printmaking originates from the copying pictures of the ancient printing backward period. In this period, the painting, engraving and printing are in the state of division of labor. This copying picture is called copying. Later, the printing technique developed, and the prints gradually separated from the printing industry to form an independent art. The painter self-painted and self-printed. This print is different from the copy print and is called the creative print. There are many types of prints. According to the nature of the layout and the materials used, they can be divided into three types: letterpress (woodblock print, jacquard print, paper print, plaster print), gravure (copper print, zinc print) and peace print (lithograph). The woodblock print is “wooden print”, which is a kind of picture which is carved on a wooden board with a knife and then printed with paper. It is the earliest form of print in Chinese and foreign prints.

In terms of printing, the prints have three kinds of black and white woodcuts, woodcuts and watermarks. The jacquard prints and woodcut prints are the same on the engraving. The only difference is that it is made of jacquard. The copperplate engraving is marked with a knife and a needle on a copper plate coated with a layer of anti-corrosion wax, and then corroded with an acidic corrosive liquid. When the anti-corrosion wax is engraved, it becomes a concave line, and the ink is rolled into the concave line and the convex portion is printed. The ink is wiped off, and then the paper is rolled on a roller to make the ink in the groove printed on the paper, that is, a copperplate print is made.
