The author has experienced and worked for more than ten years, and observed and studied the phenomenon that the self-made and imported steel barrel sealing machine affects the sealing of the steel barrel during the sealing, and found out ten factors affecting the sealing of the sealing. The solution to the quality of steel drum seals is to provide some useful references for the colleagues in the barrel front.

I. Overview of steel drum sealing

In addition to the quality of the steel plate and the quality of the welding, most of the sealing performance of the steel drum is on the curling edge, so the quality of the steel drum directly affects the quality of the steel drum.

Under the guidance of the "opening up to the outside world" policy, the foreign trade industry has made great progress. In particular, the development of marine dangerous goods transportation has put forward higher requirements for steel drum sealing in the barrel industry. In the past ten years, in the foreign trade, due to the sealing quality of steel drums, that is, the claim of loss of contents caused by leakage of steel drums, environmental pollution and deterioration of contents, not only caused huge economic losses to the country, but also Some bad international influences have come. therefore. How to improve the quality of steel drums and improve the sealing performance of steel drums has far-reaching significance for revitalizing foreign trade and improving the economic and social benefits of enterprises.

Before the reform and opening up of China, the foreign trade undertaking was basically in a semi-closed state of stagnation. Therefore, the demand for steel drum packaging is basically satisfied with the needs of domestic packaging and transportation. Due to the low demand and domestic transportation on the river and on the land, the quality and sealing performance of the steel drum are not high. Therefore, the barrel making work is often done by a small-scale production plant with a low production level. These manufacturers have simple equipment. Most are produced in manual and semi-mechanical workshops. At the same time, there is no professional manufacturer of barrel making equipment. After the Third Plenary Session of the Tenth Central Committee, the closure became open, and a large number of dangerous goods packaging and ocean transporter workshop-style production were far from meeting and adapting to the development of today's foreign trade. Therefore, in accordance with the requirements of international dangerous regulations, based on the actual improvement of existing production equipment and processes, the production of packaging products that meet the international dangerous regulations for the transportation of dangerous goods at sea has become the top priority of China's barreling front.

Second, ten problems in the barrel making process

1. The upper end of the steel drum is folded from the bottom of the barrel and the bottom cover is superposed on the sealing plate of the sealing machine, and the sealing task is completed by the spin forming of the sealing wheel. Therefore, when the sealing wheel is crimped, the geometrical dimensions of the sealing wheel groove are fixed, and in the spinning, the sealing wheel is put into place, and the iron capacity in the sealing wheel groove is also fixed. The seam of the barrel is welded by two layers of iron. Although the two layers of iron are ground, the weld layer is always thicker than a layer of iron. In addition, the mechanical properties of the weld are mutated after being melted by high temperature. At the same time, there are l-2mm iron layers without fusion and thinning on both sides of the lap weld, which directly participate in the curling, thus thickening the amount of rolled iron, and the sealing wheel unscrews excess iron during sealing. A violent tongue is formed at the curling edge, where the seal is not tight.

2. Since the groove size of the sealing wheel is a formed size designed in the order of double or triple crimping steps, excessive iron and too little iron capacity are not allowed in the forming wheel groove because of the iron entering the sealing groove Too much, it will squeeze excess iron in the spinning to form a violent tongue outside the coil; too little iron enters the sealing groove, because the rigidity of the iron rebounds after spinning, and a void is formed in the winding layer. Not the number of layers. Practice has proved that the barrel flange and the hook of the 200-liter steel drum are of reasonable size, and the sealing of the steel drum is reliable, otherwise it will cause peripheral leakage. At the same time, during the sealing process, due to the shearing and punching burrs around the cover hook and the barrel hook, a large amount of heat is generated in the relative motion friction of the spinning during the sealing, so that the surface of the wheel groove is reduced in fire. Surface hardness, which aggravates the wear of the surface of the forming groove. After a period of production, the size of the sealing wheel groove was damaged. The wear of the sealing wheel groove directly affects the compactness of the curling layer and affects the sealing performance of the steel drum.

3. The crimping seal is largely determined by the size of the sealing wheel, which is determined by the rationality of the sealing wheel groove process and by the step connection between the sealing wheels. Generally speaking, the double bead is completed by the secondary work entering the sealing wheel, and the triple beading is completed by the three working inlet sealing wheel. The dimensions between each wheel are different and related. The first round is for the second round and the second round is for the third round. After the third round is completed, the crimping process is completed, and the cooperation is in order. The author found that some factories used the bottom cover to pre-roll separately when producing the triple crimping, and used it as a process. We believe that the sealing of the three sealing steps on one sealing machine can complete the sealing task in three steps, which is conducive to the coaxiality between the bottom cover and the barrel in the sealing when the sealing is performed. Reduce the error of multiple installations, which is conducive to the sealing after the steel barrel is crimped.

4. Since most of the sealing machines of various production plants are self-made, even if the outsourcing is different due to the manufacturer, the technical parameters of the sealing machine are different. In particular, the improper cooperation of the working speed of the sealing wheel and the differential speed of the sealing plate will also affect the quality of the steel barrel curling. Taking a 200-liter steel drum sealing machine as an example, when the three-way sealing wheel working speed is 80 mm/min, if the barrel material is 1.2 mm thick, the line speed of the sealing disc edge to the sealing wheel is 339 m/min, if The thickness of the steel for the steel drum changes, and the differential speed between the sealing wheel and the sealing disk generally changes accordingly. In general, in the case where the working speed of the working wheel is the same as that of the barrel, the line speed of the working wheel is kept consistent with the circumference of the sealing body after the barrel and the bottom cover are overlapped; The same is true, the thickness of the barrel material is not the same. The line speed of the working wheel is not the same around the sealing of the barrel and the bottom cover hook. The working speed of the working wheel is slower and thicker with the thickness of the barrel material.

5. In the beading, in order to ensure the quality of the curling, it is necessary to apply a sealing material to the inside of the hook portion of the bead and the inside of the hook portion of the barrel. The sealing material is mainly composed of latex or rubber and filler, resin, tackifier, etc., water-dispensing agent and solvent. Because it is impossible to have no gaps in the wound layer when crimping, the sealant is used to fill the internal void. Sealing materials are also very strict due to the wide variety of fillings. Basically it must have anti-corrosion, weather resistance, temperature resistance, flexibility, impact resistance and other properties. In the application method, it is necessary to ensure uniform coating. At present, there are two application methods, one is manual brushing and the other is mechanical spraying. We think it is best to use mechanical spraying. The coating is characterized by uniform and reasonable coating. The spraying is carried out twice, once on the cover hook, and the second time on the cover. In recent years, China has produced a number of new coating and sealing materials according to needs: such as the Egret brand produced in Xiamen and the N-2 type sealing glue produced in Zhuzhou, which fills these gaps in China. As for some manufacturers, it is not preferable to use the rubber brown sugar tanning filler and the hot-dissolved polyvinyl alcohol as the sealing material for the sealing of the crimping, because they are liable to cause a change in sealing performance in terms of corrosion resistance, impact resistance and temperature resistance.

6. Due to the different equipment in each barrel factory. The processing of semi-finished products is not the same before sealing assembly. The impact of high-temperature cooling on the mechanical properties of semi-finished products will of course affect the sealing performance of the assembly. For example, chemical barrels and food barrels are treated by the internal coating process. After the surface of the barrel lid is pickled and passivated, the high-temperature spray is applied to the thermosetting anti-corrosion non-toxic paint and then baked at 180~26O °C for 15~. The film is cured in 20 minutes, and the film is attached to the inner wall of the barrel to separate the contents and the wall of the barrel to achieve the purpose of anti-corrosion packaging. These semi-finished products will be changed into mechanical properties or inconsistencies in the barrel hooks and cover hooks due to different conditions of cooling after baking. Therefore, attention should be paid to the accuracy of the temperature and the placement and storage after the baking. Although it is not absolutely guaranteed that the processing machinery properties of this batch of barrel parts are completely consistent, the results are substantially the same. Because the difference between the parts between the barrels or the parts of the barrels, especially the parts directly involved in the curling when assembling the barrel and the local processing, will affect the sealing of the beads.

7. In the self-made sealing machine, the work of the sealing wheel is manual screw type, pneumatic type, eccentric mechanism automatic type and hydraulic automatic type. In these work-in principle, we believe that the manual screw-type working speed is unevenly controlled, the labor intensity is large, and the automatic air pressure type can meet the general industrial requirements, but the pressure in the pipeline is lost due to the long pipeline of the pneumatic system. Large, plus more gas equipment, more airflow diversion, resulting in instability of the sealing machine into the system, affecting the uniform speed of the sealing wheel. The eccentric automatic mechanism and the hydraulic automatic type make the working speed of the working wheel uniform and uniform, and the power is balanced. Therefore, the promotion method of the sealing wheel is to use an eccentric mechanism automatic or hydraulic automatic mechanism, which will help the sealing performance after the sealing of the crimping.

8. Although the GB325 national standard allows for the production of steel laps, we believe that the double rim and triple rim seals are superior to the double flat hem. The double-circle edge is not complicated in terms of its process. The pre-treatment production process of the barrel parts is the same, but only some improvements are made on the two sealing wheels, and the improvement is not difficult. The triple crimping side also adds a pre-rolling wheel to the sealing wheel. In addition, the transition dimension between the other two sealing wheels is properly adjusted. At the same time, the strength of the holding mechanism of the three working wheels is strengthened, and the barrel hook and the hook are hooked. The size of the double bead is appropriately lengthened. Because the eye curling edge is much larger than the flat crimping edge, the triple garden curling edge is double or several times flat. The garden curling process can be produced by making some improvements on existing equipment. Therefore, it is not unattainable to eliminate doubts and emancipate the mind.

9. In some factories, due to equipment limitations, when the cover is processed, the process of separating and forming is carried out. In addition, the factory uses the commercial disc to cut the cover material. What harm does this bring to the sealing of the barrel? The bottom cover is first cut and then formed. The positioning during the forming is not allowed to affect the coaxiality of the edge of the cover hook and the cover. degree. In addition, the disc shearing force has a tearing force in the centrifugal direction when shearing, so the cover material under the unbalanced force is impossible to ensure the surrounding gardening degree, and the size of the lid hook after forming is inconsistent, plus the tensile deformation, the hook hook edge Waves appear, so that the processed cover will seriously affect the quality of the curl after sealing. The secondary process of forming after splitting is preferably formed by one-time cutting of the die. If the punching machine is at a manufacturer with a pressure of 100 tons, simply change the flat edge of the composite die to a symmetrical wave-shaped knife edge or a symmetrical oblique knife edge. Since the punching and press stretching of the composite die are not performed at the same time, the punching force and the tensile force of the press are not more than 100 tons of the punching force. The 100-ton punching press is fully qualified for the 200-liter steel drum bottom cover.

10. Civilized production is very important. In the production, especially the barrel and bottom cover of the transfer assembly bucket are bumped and beaten, the barrel hook and the cover hook are touched and curled, or the oil sludge sand dust is stained, and the seal is not trimmed and scrubbed, and the barrel is sealed. And the self-rolling or the inclusion of impurities in the seam affects the sealing of the bead.

Third, some suggestions for improving quality

1. Improve the thickness of the edging and reduce the width of the lap of the weld at the hook of the barrel (11±1 of the 200 liter steel barrel is changed to 4±1 mm), and increase the hot-rolling and thinning mechanism during the welding of the weld. The hook of the side of the barrel is close to the iron thickness of the barrel material.

2. The coaxiality and the country of the periphery of the bottom cover hook are improved, and the bottom cover is divided into two parts and then formed into a secondary process for the blanking and forming of the composite mold.

3. Reasonably adjust the differential speed ratio of the sealing plate and the sealing wheel of the sealing machine.

4. The working method of changing the sealing wheel is manual and screw type and pneumatic type is eccentric mechanism automatic and hydraulic.

5. Ensure the correct size of the double-circle and triple-revolution sealing wheel and replace the worn sealing wheel in time.

6. Pay attention to the mechanical properties of the barrel hook and cover hook in the pre-treatment process, adjust the working distance of the sealing wheel at any time, and seal the body and bottom cover with the same mechanical properties as much as possible in a batch of production.

7. Change the double flat curl to double or triple.

8. When the cover is separately pre-rolled into the seal, the barrel and the cover are sealed at the same time on the same sealing machine.

9. Carefully follow the technical drawings to trim the geometric dimensions of the barrel hook and cover hook.
