New product reviews of UV / EB ink raw materials

In 2004, the world's top ink raw material suppliers introduced many new types of UV / EB ink raw materials, which expanded the application range of UV / EB ink and greatly enhanced its functions. The following is a brief comment.

Akzo Nobel Resin

Actilane 200HD12: bifunctional urethane acrylate, with strong adhesion and good flexibility, suitable for the manufacture of OP oil and various adhesives.

Actilane 370: Modified epoxy acrylate with good flexibility, recommended for screen printing inks, special OP oils and offset printing inks.

Actilane 536: Ammonia-modified polyester acrylate, with very low viscosity and high curing speed, flexibility is also very good.

Actilane 555: A linking material for new flexographic printing inks, with strong color wetting power, low viscosity, and fast curing speed. Although it was specially developed for flexographic printing inks, it can also meet the requirements of primer inks and relief printing inks.

Actilane 560: A linking material for new flexographic printing inks with strong pigment wetting power. Compared with Actilane 555, it also has the characteristics of low viscosity and high curing speed, but it is better in performance. Like Actilane 555, Actilane 560 can not only be used for flexographic printing inks, but also fully meet the requirements of various screen printing primer inks.

Actilane 765: A monofunctional tertiary amine with very low viscosity (10cPs), which has the characteristics of fast curing speed and strong adhesion. It is especially suitable for various screen printing inks and varnishes.

Actilane 881: Polyfunctional polyester acrylate, with extremely fast curing speed, low viscosity (600cPs), strong adhesion, especially suitable for various flexographic printing inks and inkjet inks, but also suitable for OP oil with low ink transfer and fast curing.

Ciba

Irgastab UV 10: A new type of ink additive that can ensure the long-term stability of inks and varnishes, as well as the stability of inks from production to printing, coating and curing throughout the cycle. As a stabilizer, it can effectively control the gelation problem of UV curing components, and has almost no adverse effect on the curing speed.
Irgacure 379: It can meet the fast curing requirements of various inks according to the photolithographic tolerance formula.
Irgacure 2100: belongs to multi-functional liquid composite photoinitiator, mainly suitable for UV pigment ink, to ensure that UV ink or varnish only produce slight yellowing and a small amount of odor residue after curing.
Irgacure 2022: based on Irgacure 819

Irgacure 819 (diacylphosphine oxide) is a new multifunctional liquid composite photoinitiator that can be applied to UV pigment inks in most spectral ranges.
Irgacure 250: A liquid cationic photoinitiator compound for UV-curable pigmented inks and varnishes, including white primers and adhesives, such as white primers and adhesives for labels, flexible packaging, and posters .
Darocur ITX, EDB, and EHA: The addition of Darocur ITX, EDB, and EHA has further expanded Ciba ’s range of development and applications in pigment and energy curing.

General Press Colors

New UV primer pigment series: General Press Colors developed 12 types of primer pigments in 2003. In 2004, the company improved on this basis and developed more color primer pigments. This series of products can meet the requirements of fast and stable curing, while improving friction resistance and gloss, extending shelf life, and reducing the occurrence of flying ink during rapid printing. These primers use the usual pigment fillers, which are more versatile and closer to standardization.

Kustom

Lithomaster offset printing energy curing link material: the link material has excellent rheological properties, greatly improving the effect of web UV and EB printing. The linking material has great advantages for controlling the water-ink balance.

KS-284: A pigment dispersion binder used in offset and flexographic printing inks. This product effectively reduces the thixotropy of the ink during the pigment dispersion process and is suitable for occasions sensitive to odors.

Shadoma

New monomers and oligomers: In May 2004, Shadoma launched five new raw materials that can be used in UV inks, including a variety of monomers and oligomers. Multiple tests have shown that it has viscosity Low, good pigment wetting properties, low odor, good stability and heat resistance, high Tg value and low skin irritation and other advantages.

Sun Chemical

Spectracure F dispersant: This product plays a role of pigment dispersion in UV flexographic printing inks, and is also suitable for primary colors and PMS printing (Pantone matching system, by combining with standard SWOP inks, it can create more than 3000 kinds of Numbering system for color identification). The most outstanding performance of this product is reflected in the low viscosity maintained during the high-performance pigment filling and mixing process, which helps ink manufacturers produce more high-performance (thick ink and low viscosity) inks.

UCB

UCB has introduced several raw materials for energy-curable inks, including ViaFlex 110, ViaFlex 111, ViaFlex 406, ViaSet 210, ViaScreen 520, ViaScreen 521, and Ebecryl 446. In addition, a variety of new photoinitiators were introduced, such as Additol BP, Additol BDK, Additol HDMAP, Additol CPK, Additol TPO, Additol ITX, Additol DMMTA, Additol EHA and Additol EPD.

ViaFlex 110: A linking material designed to solve some special problems faced by ruby-colored flexographic printing inks. This product helps to increase color density and reduce ink viscosity.

ViaFlex 111: A link material specially designed to solve some special problems faced by yellow series flexographic printing inks. The product has better dispersion properties and reduces ink viscosity.

ViaFlex 406: It is also a kind of connecting material specially used for flexographic printing ink, which can reduce the viscosity of ink and improve the color strength. At the same time, some other properties have been improved, such as the ink transfer effect when the line number of the anilox roller is high, and the adhesion performance to various synthetic film bases.

ViaSet 210: Universal offset color ink link material. The finished ink produced by using it has the characteristics of good ink viscosity, low ink flying phenomenon and good rheological properties while ensuring good pigment wetting performance.

ViaScreen 520 / ViaScreen 521: linking material for thermoforming screen printing inks.
