Just to have nothing to do, we tested the waterproof and floating features of Meridian and Explorer 2 GPS. Let’s take a look at the first test of the New Year:)
According to Magellan’s official introduction:
The waterproof standard for the two series of GPS is IPX7. The meridian can float.
Note: IPX7 waterproof standard: It can still work normally after soaking for 1 hour at 1 meter underwater.
Tester:

2: Explorer 500, loaded into the original 1300 mA lithium battery, map card
test environment:
In the washroom, a large bucket full of tap water was measured with a steel tape measure to a depth of 83cm. Home can't find deeper containers:(
Test steps:
1: GPS is turned on.
2: Hand-held GPS, at a height of 1 meter above the water surface, the free fall falls into the bucket (try to simulate the scene of falling into water when outdoors).
After 3:40 minutes, remove the GPS, dry the surface of the GPS with a towel, and open the back cover.
Test Results:
1: Meridian Color Edition: After entering the water, it floats onto the surface of the water. There is no visible water in the battery compartment. GPS has been working normally.
2: Explorer 500: After sinking into the water, there is no visible water in the battery compartment. GPS has been working normally.
Personal conclusion:
Although the water depth is insufficient, it is closer to 100cm:)
The test time is extended to 40 minutes, which can be regarded as the lack of water depth compensation :)
The test results are basically consistent with the official introduction of Magellan.
