Types of plastic composite film materials used by Chinese and Western medicine

The plastic composite film packaging of granules, powders, powders, capsules, etc. of Chinese and Western medicine mainly includes the following varieties.

LDPE film

LDPE can be compounded with various polyolefins to make flexible packaging bags, such as a medical liquid packaging bag. The raw material is a copolymer of LDPE and ethylene-α olefin.

Advantages: It can withstand high temperature sterilization treatment above 100 ° C and has good flexibility. The multilayer composite film made of LDPE, adhesive, PA and other raw materials has similar advantages as PVC and PP, and has a wide range of uses.

BOPP film

PP film can be used as a large number of inner and outer layers of medical flexible packaging composite film.

Advantages: Biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film has good transparency, heat resistance and barrier properties;

Used for the outer layer of the composite bag, it is compounded with LDPE, EVA, EEA, EAA or aluminum foil with good heat sealability, which can greatly improve the rigidity and physical mechanical properties of the composite film. If the BOPP base film is coated with PVDC with excellent moisture resistance and barrier properties, its gas barrier and moisture barrier properties can be greatly improved.

CPP film

Cast polypropylene film (CPP) has good heat sealability, and is mostly used for the inner layer of composite packaging bags. After vacuum aluminum plating, it can be compounded with BOPP, PET, OPA, PT. It is an important material for pharmaceutical packaging.

PET film

Advantages: Biaxially stretched polyester film in PET film has extremely high mechanical strength and rigidity, high heat resistance, excellent chemical resistance, excellent transparency and gloss, moisture and oxygen permeation The rate is small and has a particularly good taste retention, which is unmatched by all other films.

PVDC film

Polyvinylidene chloride film (PVDC) is one of the films with the best barrier properties. It is divided into heat-resistant coated films, such as gas barrier PP, CPE, PET and coated PVDC films. PVDC coated composite film has been widely used in pharmaceutical packaging, which can play a role in moisture resistance, taste retention, moisture resistance and so on. It is understood that PVDC currently on the market is actually a copolymer of vinylidene chloride (VDC) and vinyl chloride or acrylic monomers, and the monomer content is usually 75% to 90%.

Advantages: PVDC has the characteristics of transparency, flexibility, oil resistance, chemical resistance, excellent gas barrier and humidity resistance, etc. It is a widely used barrier material for high school.

Application: In high-barrier medical packaging, it is usually used as a coating material. The composite film of 2 ~ 4µmPVDC is coated on PP, CPE, PET film, which can make it breathable and moisture-permeable. Composite packaging bags for packaging films and packaging granules, powders and low-priced drugs.

Vacuum aluminum coating

Vacuum aluminized film is a kind of flexible packaging film product that evaporates aluminum onto various base films under high vacuum. The aluminized layer is very thin. Vacuum aluminized films such as PETP, CPP, PT, PI, and PE are widely used in the packaging of important powders, granules, and powders. Among them, PETP, CPP, PE vacuum aluminized film is the most used.

Advantages: In addition to the characteristics of a plastic base film, vacuum aluminized soft film packaging also has beautiful decoration and good barrier properties. Especially after various plastic substrates are aluminum coated, their light transmittance, oxygen permeability and The water vapor transmission rate is reduced by dozens of times or hundreds of times. It is used in medicine packaging to prevent the mold from becoming moldy and wet.

CTFE film

Fluorohalogenated hydrocarbon film mainly refers to a copolymer of chlorotrifluorotriene (CTFE), which is non-flammable, has excellent barrier properties and is transparent, and has a unique range of applications. There are currently two types of such films, CTFE and ethylene trifluorochloroethylene copolymers. According to the coating online, CTFE film is still soft at -160 ℃, and the melting point is between 180 and 204 ℃, which is related to its taste and crystallization degree.  

Multi-layer co-extruded medical packaging film

Multi-layer structure medical packaging film generally adopts PE / adhesive / PA / adhesive / PE / adhesive / PA / adhesive / PE9 layer structure, and PP can also be used instead of PA. The other structures are the same, and the thickness is usually 0.05 ~ 0.4mm . At present, the number of layers of co-extruded films is increasing, and many companies have been able to produce 8-layer, 9-layer or even 11-layer medical packaging films.
