How to understand the electrostatic tester in Kyushu space analysis

Introduction to the Electrostatic Tester

The electrostatic field tester is a portable, non-contact device designed for measuring static electric fields. It can detect values within a range of ±20 kV at a working distance of 1 inch (25 mm). This instrument features two LED indicators that help assess the electrostatic performance of materials such as 25 mm fiber, yarn, fabric, carpet, and decorative textiles. It is also suitable for evaluating sheet materials like paper, rubber, plastic, and composite sheets. The device consists of a corona discharge unit, a probe, and a detection system. By applying a high-voltage electric field, the sample is periodically discharged, inducing static charge. This allows the tester to measure electrostatic energy, static voltage half-life, and residual static charge, providing a comprehensive analysis of the material’s electrostatic properties.

Important Usage Guidelines

Electrostatic testers are specifically designed for electrostatic testing and must be protected from water, oil, solvents, and other conductive contaminants. Exposure to these substances can lead to electrical insulation failure. Pay special attention to environmental humidity—store and use the device in areas with less than 60% relative humidity. Avoid inserting any objects into the sensor opening, and prevent foreign particles from entering. Do not use the device in environments containing corrosive fumes or gases, such as chlorine. Always check the nameplate for normal operating conditions. When not in use, turn the device off. For accurate readings, ensure proper grounding. If the instrument is dropped, it may be damaged and should be inspected by an authorized technician. As an electronic device with sensitive sensors and microprocessor components, it is not suitable for use in areas with high levels of electromagnetic interference.

Applications

Ensure employee safety by monitoring static electricity risks. Prevent product damage caused by static buildup. The anti-static wrist strap tester easily checks the performance of various types of anti-static wrist straps. If the resistance is out of the standard range or the battery is low, the device will automatically trigger an alarm, lighting up the red indicator and sounding a warning. It also provides low-voltage alerts. Its compact and lightweight design makes it easy to handle and user-friendly, offering clear and intuitive results during testing.
