Gomez Associates: Modern Design With A Luxurious Edge
Gomez Associates, founded by Mariette Himes Gomez in 1975, initially focused on residential projects, but soon expanded to include some commercial ventures. Known for her distinctive blend of modernism and luxury, Mariette quickly established herself as a trailblazer in her field. Over the past three decades, her work has graced the pages of prestigious publications such as The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Architectural Record, House Beautiful, and Town & Country. Since 1992, Mariette has also ventured into furniture design, creating pieces that reflect her signature style.
For nearly thirty years, Mariette Himes Gomez has been redefining her unique vision through her interior design studio. Her ability to craft serene, inviting spaces that offer a retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern life is unparalleled. By seamlessly blending architectural details with a keen eye for subtle color, her designs exude a sleek yet personal charm. Whether highlighting elegant antiques or showcasing fine art, Mariette's work balances high-style glamour with refined simplicity.
Born and raised in New York City, Brooke Gomez grew up surrounded by creativity. The daughter of an architect father and an interior design mother, Brooke spent her childhood in homes that were perpetually works in progress. Even her dollhouse, modeled after the family brownstone, was fully functional, complete with electrical wiring. "I was obsessed with lighting fixtures," she recalls. At just six years old, she was already selecting sconces and chandeliers. When her mother asked her about her favorite color, her response—any shade of pink—was definitive then and remains so today.
Brooke’s portfolio includes a diverse range of projects, from New York apartments and townhouses to homes in Connecticut, Chicago, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, and Maryland. She’s also designed beach houses in locales like the Hamptons, New Jersey, Palm Beach, and Turks and Caicos. Most recently, she completed renovations for celebrities like Michael J. Fox and Sigourney Weaver. Additionally, she tackled a full gut renovation of a historic townhouse in Greenwich Village. On television, Brooke made an appearance on Bravo’s Bethenny Ever After, where she transformed Bethenny Frankel’s Tribeca loft. While Brooke shares her mother’s preference for soft palettes, she leans toward bold colors, patterns, and fashion.
