His formal training began at 15 when he joined the prestigious École Boulle, mastering skills such as gilding, plaster carving, cabinetmaking, and upholstery. Later, he studied interior design at the renowned École Camondo.
Among Grange’s notable projects, highlights include the Paloma Picasso jewelry store in New York City, the iconic Mark Hotel on Madison Avenue, and the historic Barbizon Hotel. His current works span cities like Lima, Brittany, Paris, and New York, showcasing his ability to create daring atmospheres where contrasting elements harmoniously coexist. One of Grange’s most significant collaborations was with Yves Saint Laurent, for whom he designed projects ranging from a villa in Marrakech to a Proust-inspired Château Gabriel in Normandy, drawing inspiration from “In Search of Lost Time.†Grange himself has remarked, “Of all the houses I have decorated, those I have decorated for Yves Saint Laurent are the most important part of my work.†His signature style achieves a seamless harmony between traditional and contemporary elements, ensuring that no detail feels out of place.
