Building a Modern Coffee Table
In this project, I’ll walk you through the creation of a contemporary coffee table inspired by mid-century modern design. The idea originated from a piece I saw at a client’s place, which I later refined with the help of a designer to enhance its appeal.
This coffee table is crafted from solid cherry wood, known for its rich color and durability. To give it a sleek finish, I applied a hand-rubbed oil finish that enhances the natural beauty of the wood. The table is topped with a piece of tempered glass measuring 3/8 inch thick for added elegance and protection.
Creating this coffee table was both challenging and rewarding. The process involved precise measurements, careful sanding, and assembling each component with meticulous attention to detail. The result is a piece that not only serves as a functional centerpiece but also adds a touch of sophistication to any living room.
